I'm not sure where the month of August went, quite frankly it feels like it slipped right through my fingers, but here is the playlist of what I was listening to. I make these playlists based on new discoveries, what I am actually listening to in this moment, but I also try to set a mood for the playlist based on the first few songs and keep it somewhat cohesive-sounding. I hope you enjoy it.
If I could recommend only one song from this month, my favorite new track, it would be Honey Jars by Bryan John Appleby. It is soft and comforting but also so, so heartbreaking.

Currently Lusting After: Backpacks
This week, I am lusting after backpacks. A strange combination of gorgeously expensive, high fashion backpacks, and then beautifully functional, let's go on adventures, backpacks. This dichotomy is a pretty accurate representation of my heart's conflicting desires. I want to be Editor of Vogue stomping the streets of New York and beautifully dressed, but I also want to be wandering the wilderness in hiking boots and playing in the mud and going on backpacking adventures. Sleeping out of a tent in the woods.
My personal collection of bags and luggage has not fully reached adulthood yet. I need a new duffle or carry-on bag, and I could use a more serious backpack than my black Jansport that I've had since high school.
These are my favorites that I have found so far today. The fashion illustrators and fashion blogs that I read are giving me the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag fever, which is ridiculous. And all of Herschel's packs are lovely to think of carrying on a hike through the woods.
Herschel Supply Co. Heritage Backpack, $54.99. Mansur Gavriel Calf Coated Backpack, $950. Herschel Supply Co. Little America Backpack, $149.99.

Music of the Moment
In The Silence - Ásgeir
I have had this album on repeat for three days straight, now. Ever since the roommate told me about hearing "King and Cross" on the radio and played it for me, I have been obsessed with the entire album. Ásgeir is an Icelandic solo singer-songwriter and so the album was originally put out in his native language, but was eventually translated and released in English. So this is the English version. However I heard one of the Icelandic versions for the first time last night, and it was pretty incredible. His sound is remniscent of Bon Iver, Ben Howard, José González.
Stand out tracks: Higher, King and Cross, Was There Nothing?, Torrent, Going Home.
Also worth checking out is his cover of "Stolen Dance" by Milky Chance.

An Introduction
Bonjour! My name is Lauren, and I am so very pleased to meet you! Welcome to my blog -- I hope we can one day become good friends! I am a 23-year-old wanderer who has not yet decided where to settle, though I am currently a Florida transplant living and working in Tennessee. I have started this blog as a creative outlet, to share the music, writing, and fashion that I love and lust after.
I am not here to dictate what other people should wear or listen to; merely to share with you the things that I am excited about at the moment, in the hopes of finding someone else who is excited or passionate about the same things. Taste may be ephemeral and ever-changing, but this is mine. For the moment...
